President of Specialty Cases and the best boss ever, she leads with dedication, creativity, and a customer-first mindset. When she’s not helping customers find the perfect case solution, she enjoys learning guitar, creating mixed media art, beach getaways, and spending time with her family and her faithful pup Piper.

Candy Joseph - Digital Marketing Manager
A passionate Digital Marketing Manager with a knack for SEO, advertising, and web strategy. When not optimizing campaigns or managing websites, she enjoys spending time with her family, designing graphics, listening to Tool, and doting on her beloved cocker spaniels.

Rich Joseph - IT Manager
An experienced IT Manager who keeps systems running smoothly and securely. Outside of work, he’s a dedicated husband to our digital marketing manager, a proud dad, member of the Bill's Mafa, and a drummer for a local rock band — proving tech and rhythm go hand in hand.

Brendon Pinkham - Production Manager
Brendon is an artist and a perfectionist, bringing craftsmanship and attention to detail to every case he builds. As Production Manager, he oversees the entire process—from inspection to final quality check and shipment—ensuring every order meets the highest standards. He works closely with customers to design custom foam interiors that perfectly fit their needs. Outside of work, Brendon enjoys gardening, woodworking, drumming, and winding down with video games.

Onion - Jr. Warehouse Gaurd Pup
Meet Onion — Onion is our part-Chihuahua, part-Beagle warehouse guard dog (in training). Fierce with squeaky toys and unstoppable when food is involved, Onion keeps spirits high and tails wagging. When she's not "patrolling" the warehouse, she's busy charming the team and chasing anything that moves.

Teddy - Sr. Warehouse Guard Dog
Meet Teddy — Teddy is our seasoned warehouse guard dog and unofficial supervisor of all things sniff-worthy. A distinguished Redbone Coonhound "mix", he keeps the younger pup Onion in line while keeping watch over daily operations. Loyal, laid-back, and full of wisdom (and naps), Teddy is the heart of the team.

In the Early Days

It began, like many great companies, in a garage. In 1989, Paul Young, an Anvil Case representative and shipping case designer, noticed something was missing in the industry. There were plenty of companies that sold cases, but very few distributors who provided relevant solutions for the diverse needs of many companies. By designing innovative products like multiple laptop shipping cases and computer and server cases, Specialty Cases became the place companies turned to when they needed secure solutions and quick delivery.

In the early days of the World Wide Web, Specialty Cases was ahead of the pack with a full service website which showcased business travel cases, trade show cases, and custom shock mount rack cases. In a world with seemingly endless packaging options, Paul made sure to offer plenty of pre-fabricated solutions that would remove the need for an extensive design process when possible. This led to specialtycases.com being the website for customers seeking convenient, economical shipping case solutions.

Our Continued Growth

As the phones kept ringing off the hook, the need for an upgrade became apparent, and Specialty Cases moved to its current Laurel, MD location in 2003. The following year, Mr. Young resigned as President, and Mr. John Gump took over the company. Under the guidance of Mr. Gump, the company continued to grow by offering new options, including adding the SKB line, venturing into eCommerce and streamlining and updating the designs that had proven to be the hallmark of Specialty Cases’ excellence. Mr. Gump also continued the top-notch customer service tradition and stressed convenience, ensuring that large quantities of cases were kept in stock in Maryland, cutting down on lead times and creating a showroom for customers to see what Specialty Cases had to offer.

In 2014, Mr. Gump retired and longtime General Manager, Kiersten Gillespie purchased Specialty Cases. In addition to being with Specialty Cases since 2005, Mrs. Gillespie brings over 20 years of experience in packaging and commercial solutions to the table. Known throughout the industry for her friendly, efficient customer service, Mrs. Gillespie continues the Specialty Cases’ tradition of service excellence.
