The P17 Waterproof Gun Holster may be submerged in both fresh and salt water while continuing to remain dry inside. The P17 provides a level two gun retention system. The unit is secured by one belt support at two control points to distribute load and limit belt stress. In addition, two leg straps control the lower sections for posture transitions, walking and running. The P17 includes desiccant packs that will remove moisture from inside the case. This will ensure the firearm is in a moisture free environment for much of the time it is not in use.

When closed, the Seahorse P17 Waterproof Gun Holster provides continuous protection for your handgun from harsh elements. The P17 is a Level 2 retention holster. This holster features an outside casing made of a durable high impact-resistant polycarbonate and an inner non-abrasive nylon sleeve holsters the handgun. The P17 contains stainless steel springs and screws that are corrosion resistant. The P17 drop-leg holster attaches to the user’s belt with two quick release belt attachments. The quick release is adjustable for 1 in. – 2 in. belts. The dual leg straps minimize the holster’s movement during walking and running.

The P17 meets and exceeds the IP67 rating, making it dustproof and submergible in fresh or salt water for a depth of 1 meter (3.3 feet) for 30 minutes. The holster contains desiccant packs that will ensure a moisture-free environment. The automatic pressure purge system allows the holster to open with ease after descending from altitude or disembarking a plane.

Please Note: The P17 is handgun specific. The internal sleeves are manufactured for the specific handguns only. If a different handgun is placed in the unit, it will not function correctly. Inner sleeves are interchangeable to fit the desired handgun model.

P17 Operation:

The P17 is intended to be a drop leg holster with two belt attachment loops and two leg straps. The two belt attachments should be looped into a belt and tightened with the friction bar to reduce movement. The two leg straps are should also be tightened to reduce movement. The holster is factory set with leg straps that will fit 80% of the population. If different leg straps are required, they will need to be ordered and installed by the user.

The P17 features three levels of security. First, the holster is equipped with a metal locking latch. Insert the key and rotate counter-clockwise to release this safety. Second, the holster’s primary access is gained by pressing down on the button in the center of the top shell. This allows the primary shell to open and present the handgun. The firearm is still secured by the holster unit at this point. To release the firearm and the third level of security, depress the inner thumb safety and push toward ground. The inner sleeve will now present the firearm and be drawn for use. Simply shut the holster when not in use to ensure your firearms stays clean and free of debris.

P17 Care:

To clean, use a mild detergent. The P17 should be allowed to dry in the open configuration. In the event the P17 becomes saturated with salt water, mud or other debris, rinse thoroughly with fresh water, leave open and air dry. For accelerated drying, open the holster and place on its side in front of the vents at the bottom of most refrigerators or freezers. They provide a constant flow of warm air that will penetrate the P17 quickly. Exposure to WD-40, oil, or gasoline should be avoided as they can reduce the surface finish of the holster.

Desiccants are held in the compartment under the mesh located on the side of the unit. The desiccants will remove any residual moisture in the unit when closed and will change color when they reach capacity. Color change instructions are printed on the desiccant packs and should be replaced as needed. If the firearm is not to be used for extended periods ensure fresh desiccants are placed in the compartment.

The "O" ring seal is located on the hinged cover and must be free of dirt and debris to form a complete watertight seal. Visually inspect the seal integrity and replace if necessary.
