Need a Custom Shockmount Rack Case?

Tell us your rack units, rack depth, equipment weight, rail style, transport method, and protection requirements. We can help match your rack-mounted equipment to the right Anvil case construction, shock protection, hardware, and mobility setup.

How to Choose the Right Rack Case Size

Before requesting a quote, it helps to confirm your rack width, rack depth, rack height, and equipment weight. These details help determine the correct shockmount rack case configuration.

Rack Width

Most rack cases are built around the standard 19 inch EIA rack format used for professional AV, IT, broadcast, and communications equipment.

Rack Depth

Rack depth is measured from the front rail to the rear rail, helping ensure the case has enough room for your equipment, wiring, airflow, and service access.

Rack Height

Rack height is based on rack units. One rack unit, or 1U, equals 1.75 inches of vertical rack space.

Built to Your Specifications

Anvil rack cases are custom-built, so you are not limited to fixed stock sizes when your equipment requires a specific rack depth, height, or transport setup.

Shockmount Rack Case Features

Anvil shockmount rack cases are designed to help protect rack-mounted equipment from vibration, impact, handling stress, and the demands of repeated transport.

360-Degree Shock Protection

Two inches of Ester foam and Ethafoam surround the rack frame to help cushion sensitive rack equipment during transport and handling.

Front and Rear Removable Lids

Standard front and rear removable lids are 2.75 inches deep, giving users practical access for setup, cabling, inspection, and operation.

Professional Rack Hardware

Black powder-coated tapped steel front and rear rack rails are standard, with additional rail styles available for different mounting requirements.

Rugged Transport Hardware

Recessed spring-loaded handles, padlockable twist-hasp latches, steel ball corners, and a shipping label plate support repeated commercial and field use.

Choose the Right Rack Case Construction

Select the construction style based on payload weight, protection level, handling conditions, forklift exposure, transport frequency, and application requirements.

ATA Construction

Available in 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, or 1/2 inch plywood with an ABS exterior, designed to meet or exceed ATA Spec 300 Category 1 requirements.

IRON Construction

Available in 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch plywood with an ABS exterior and an extremely tough HDPE covering for heavier abuse, rougher handling, and forklift environments.

MACC Construction

Military Application Case construction is designed for demanding applications and built to meet MIL-STD-810 while exceeding ATA Spec 300 Category 1.

Payload Guidance

As general guidance, 1/4 inch construction is typically used up to 50 lbs, 3/8 inch from 50 to 100 lbs, and 1/2 inch above 100 lbs, with reinforcement available when needed.

Rack Rails, Casters, and Field-Use Options

Configure your shockmount rack case around how the rack will be mounted, rolled, stacked, transported, and used on site.

Rack Rail Options

Standard black powder-coated tapped steel front and rear rack rails are available with tapped 10/32 inch round holes or square-holed Compaq/HP rack rail options.

Caster Wheel Options

Choose 3.5 inch, 4 inch, or 6 inch heavy-duty caster wheels, with 2 or 4 braking wheels depending on payload, case size, and transport needs.

MICS Table Options

The patented Modular Interlocking Case System can turn clamp-on lid cases into field workstations. The minimum case height for this option is 14 rack units.

Stacking Caster Cups

Standard and deep stacking caster cups are available for like-sized cases that need to stack securely during storage, staging, or transport.

Additional Custom Rack Case Options

Finish, latching, labeling, and identification details can be tailored to your organization, equipment inventory, and transport environment.

Case Color Options

Standard Anvil rack case colors are black and blue, with additional colors available upon request for branding, department coding, or project identification.

Latch Options

Choose twist-hasp, keylockable, or valance-spanning latches based on your security, access, transport, and water-resistance requirements.

Stenciling and Identification

Stenciling is available at no charge, with a 40 character standard allowance to support asset tracking, ownership labeling, or job-specific identification.
